2006 Feng Shui and Year of
Hardwood By Diana Garber, The Feng Shui Results Lady @ Intuitive Concepts, Inc.
Energy patterns are determined each year by the star that migrates to the center of a 3 x 3 grid. The grid represents each direction (North, East, South, West, NE, etc.). This year the
number three floats to the middle, and from there a formula determines where the rest of the numbers (one through nine) go. Here's how it looks:

The star that appears in the middle has a great influence on how we experience the world,
events in the U.S., our offices, and homes. As an example, in 2004 the five earth star was in the center. Five is a dangerous energy affecting earth. Thus, the world experienced a severe
earth quake. In 2005, the four wood star (which also represents wind) produced hurricanes. There's more about these energies in archived newsletters that you can access on my
website. So what's in store for us this year? If you compare the star patterns in Chart 1 to the star table in Chart 2, you can anticipate a
potential concern and take corrective action. It's important to prioritize and focus your efforts, so read the rest of the article before you begin. Chart 2 – Flying Stars Chart and Their General Nature

Basically the question is, "is the star compatible with the direction it is now in?" To determine
the answer, use the element chart (Chart 3) below. Fire produces earth; earth produces metal; metal produces water; water produces wood; and wood produces fire. As an example
in Chart 1 four flies into the NW. In Chart 2 look for the NW direction. Four (from Chart 1) is wood and NW (from Chart 2) is metal. The two elements are not compatible--metal
dominates wood; so we look at negative traits as to how we might experience the NW. If the elements from Chart 1 and Chart 2 are compatible, we look for positive traits. Chart 3 – Five Elements and Compatibility
Wood (three star in the center) typically represents growth. Because three is hard wood
(versus soft wood), it can represents an established forest. An analogy might be established growth, so companies that have been around for a while that are in the construction,
development, or sales industries would have a good year. However, when we look at how elements interact—in 2006 three wood is not compatible with its current center location of
five earth. Three brings with it conflict and robbery which impacts the globe, the U.S., our offices, and homes. Robbery can be literal or metaphorical. It can mean, as examples,
embezzlement or home invasion; or being robbed of opportunities (backstabbing, deceit). The last time we experienced hard-wood energy was in 1997. Keeping in mind this brings
conflict, robbery, and hysteria energy--let's revisit some events of that year. Two transport helicopters collide killing 70 Israeli soldiers. Rwanda refugees try to escape violence. A civil
jury finds O.J. Simpson liable for murder. Andes mud slide kills 300 people. A 69-year old teacher open fire from atop the Empire State Building. The first successful clone happens in
Scotland. Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky have an affair. Heaven's Gate members commit mass suicide. Timothy McVeigh is sentenced for the Oklahoma City bombing. American
tobacco companies agree to a settlement of $370 billion for smoking-related diseases. During a fight, Mike Tyson is disqualified for biting the ear of Evander Holyfield. Hong Kong
reverts to Chinese rule. Neo-Nazi and left-wingers have a violent clash in Germany; and so on. While these facts are interesting, 1997 was in a 20-year period of seven (soft metal) so
it's the same but different. Let's return to the present and discover ways to be proactive. When we evaluate 2006's three energy in the context of the current 20-year period of eight
(earth in center), again they are not compatible. Three represents explosions, thunder, and conflict. Eight represents earth. A prediction of earthquakes, lightening damage, explosions,
and continued terrorist attacks can be made. Review the article, 2006 Chinese Astrology, for another perspective. There are some common themes such as earthquakes and health
concerns. Also, because three represents one of the sibling directions and wood conflicts with earth, problems may surface regarding parks and playgrounds.
Following is an overview of what to look for this year. Basically, utilize a compass to identify where directions are (North, South, NW, etc.) within your home, and apply Chart 4 below.
Notice: While a remedy may generically be suggested, it is possible it is not be suitable for your home or office. The chart below is not a substitute for an analysis
by a Feng Shui professional who utilizes the flying stars method. Each building has a unique energy blueprint (determined by when it was constructed and how this applies to
magnetic energies). This blueprint may require a completely different remedy. I'd be happy to consult with you. Consultation options are available in person or by telephone. Prioritize your
efforts by concentrating on directions that have entrances, bedrooms, or offices in them. Chart 4 – Flying Stars and Their Influence 2/4/06 through 2/4/07

It is wise to be aware of the ruling animal's location in terms of its compass direction within
any property. This position is known as the Grand Duke, and in 2006's year of the dog, the Grand Duke is in the NW. It is unwise to undertake or initiate any building work in this
section of the home or property during the year of the dog. If an extension is planned in the NW it is still possible to proceed, but first initiate construction somewhere else on the
property before demolishing or rebuilding in the NW sector.
In terms of flying stars and 2006, North is an inauspicious direction this year (known as three
sha or three killings). This is where the eight star migrates to during 2006. Therefore, it is not recommended that you have North at your back (also known as the sitting position).
Sui Po (known as the year breaker) is in the SE this year and generally brings a sickness energy. If you sleep in the SE sector of your property or in the SE of your home, a traditional
Feng Shui remedy is to hang a string of six Chinese coins (on a red ribbon) in this part of the property and in your home during this year.
And in conclusion, the five yellow disaster star is in the West. If your bedroom or main entrance is in the West, you want to drain this negative energy. Metal depletes earth and
water blocks it so use a metal bowl filed with water. As stagnant water is not good, replenish the water daily. You can also use a hollow-tubed metal wind chime (or mobile) and run a
metal water fountain. For those who know me, I'm not necessarily a proponent of using wind chimes inside a structure. Without wind, they aren't empowered; however, I found
battery-operated holders that solve the problem. If you're interested, visit my website (under products).
