2003 - A Yearly Glimpse Feng Shui and The Year of the Goat (also known as sheep or ram) By Diana Garber, Intuitive ConceptsBeginning in February, new yearly energies affect our environment. The 6 White Wu Qu (fortune) star arrives, and represents power and authority. 6 White's element
is metal. We're ending the 7th 20-year cycle known as the 7 Red Po Jun Star, whose element is metal. 7 Red is a fighting star and enables destruction and rebuilding. Recent events (terrorist attack, Enron, world
markets, threat of war) are testaments of that. In 2003, the two metal stars clash producing competition and arguments. Injuries by metal objects are likely. Dissention around the world continues, and requires (from
everyone) patience, negotiation, and good communication. Astrology and Mercury-Retrograde Whenever the planet Mercury travels in retrograde motion, there is a higher probability of experiencing delays,
communication problems, computer problems and misinformation concerning contracts and large purchases. Mercury represents that part of our psyche that is concerned with our mental and communicative processes. When
retrograde (which happens three or four times a year) our thinking processes turn towards inner work, unfinished business, and deep personal perceptions.
The outer world of communications can suffer during this
time requiring one to pay extra attention to communicating clearly with others. It does seem true that mail seems to move more slowly, appointments are missed, and misunderstandings are more common. Back up your
important computer files before the Mercury-retrograde periods begins, and upgrade virus-protection software. Validate then reconfirm travel arrangements.
Use the retrograde period to re-establish communication
with former contacts. Plan and prioritize projects. Avoid initiating new projects, openings, major purchases, or contracts while Mercury is retrograde. Past acquaintances are likely to turn up at this time – so don't be
surprised. Mercury-retrograde periods for 2003 are: Jan 2-22 Apr 26-May 20 Aug 28-Sept 20 Dec 17-Jan 6 (2004) Planetary Eclipses -- Lunar (LE) and Solar (SE) Eclipses tend to signal change and
new information. They can sometimes signal a stressful time, mainly due to the shift in circumstances that may occur. Try to avoid making important decisions during an eclipse as the energy around you will tend to be
unsettled and changeable. It's wise to wait at least a week for things to settle after an eclipse before making any final decisions. 2003 Eclipses:
May 16 LE May 31 SE Nov 9 LE Nov 24 SE Moon Cycles
The new moon is a positive, motivational time for initiating new beginnings and projects. The full moon is a time for completion and endings. Try to avoid scheduling any elective surgery during a full moon as you
will tend to bleed more. However, planting on the full moon is known to produce better crops. 2003 New Moon (NM) and Full Moon (FM) dates:
