While writing the new article ( Feng Shui and Children), I was suddenly filled with love and a sense of Mother Earth. We are her children and she gives us so much. For thousands of years we have taken from her--draining her of
needed fluid for her cooling system; stripping away her protective skin, polluting her, and more. What are we giving back?In the article I suggest we love others for who they are versus what we do. Let
me expand on that with a couple examples:
§ If you give a gift, don't expect anything in return. § Be responsible in your actions and speaking. In other words, put into the universe what you want to come back to you.
§ Do what's right versus what's convenient.
Feng Shui starts with the environment—hills, trees, land, etc. Mother Earth gives without asking. As a member of
Co-op America
(we're a green company—meaning environmentally friendly), look for opportunities to give her some lovin'. It can be as simple as take your shoes off, walk on the grass, and tell her you love her. Hug a tree. Thank every ocean, lake, and stream that you encounter and tell the water you love and respect it (see
resource recommendations). She needs us now more than ever. Give
her love and it will come back to you! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Question of the Month:
Camala wrote to ask, 'What's up with the weather lately and how does it relate to Feng Shui.' In the U.S. we're experiencing everything from hurricanes to extreme heat. Does the weather relate to Feng Shui? Yes! 2004 ended Feb. 9 and had a five energy (earth catastrophe=earthquakes). I'm still on the earthquake notification list from my disaster-recovery days and they seem to be more frequent and stronger (see
this month's column).December had a one energy
(water) and January a nine energy (fire and explosion). The combination of these (with five for the year) confirmed what we experienced -- the strongest earthquake we've seen in a while (nine on the Rictor scale and
jolted the earth so that it shifted our axis and we lost over one second of time) which produced the Asian tsunami. My husband and I were going to Thailand after Christmas until a consult in St. Maarten came up. Shelly,
Al, and Joe…you may have saved us! We returned January 10 and on January 12, a 6.8 earthquake hit the mid-Atlantic ridge. The flying-stars model for last year had four (wind) in the SE. What happened in
the SE of U.S.? We had four severe wind storms (3 hurricanes and one downgraded to a tropical storm). Now for 2005, the four green Wen Qu star (wind) visits the center. While this is good for the
entertainment industry and peach blossoms (love), it means we'll experience strong winds and respiratory illness. I don't believe its coincidence that SARS and the bird flu (affecting respiration) are strong in Asia.
The two black sickness star is in the East this year. If we experience an outbreak in the U.S., it will likely originate in an eastern state. Feng Shui practitioners who utilize flying stars also watch
where the five yellow disaster star lands. This year it's in the NW (head male) which can lead to challenges with leadership, management, and transportation. This year's energy compared to this 20-year period implies
sabotage anyway. Are you experiencing relationship problems this year? I've heard from many people that a relationship has run its course. So to get back to the question of weather, I do take a look at
what's happened in the past and how it equates to that year's Feng Shui energy. And, Camala, as you know (as a client), I also look at the present and future so that you can make more informed decisions. Thanks for the
question! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Tip of the Month: August's two energy begins on the 8th. It's
a time to be conservative; take care of your health, and stay close to home. Relationship problems may include illness or infidelity. Since the new article is about children
and they may be inclined to have a last hoorah before going back to school, think of ways they can express themselves safely. If you missed last month's resource recommendation, it's a really great children's safety program.

Masaru Emoto. You've probably seen some of Emoto's crystal pictures in subways or around. I'm quite fascinated by this book since water is one of the key element in Feng Shui, and our bodies are made up mostly of water.
Emoto puts into pictures what our thoughts do to our environment and ourselves. As a scientist, he is able to bridge the metaphysical with reality.

do happen! A few of my goals in hiring you were to improve my health, feel more balance in my life, and improve my work situation. As you know I was a premature baby and this resulted in several health issues. Blood
