Monthly Column: Flying Stars

When you read this month's article, "Feng Shui and The Weather,"  I mentioned flying stars. What are they? Since next month's article will be about 2006's energy, this is a good time to introduce you to the nine flying stars.

In the table below the last two columns show characteristics the stars display when they fly into a direction during a particular year (example, the 4 star flies into the NW during 2006);

Basically the question is, "is the star compatible with the direction it is now in?" To determine the answer, use the element chart below. Fire produces earth; earth produces metal; metal produces water; water produces wood; and wood produces fire. In the example above (4 flies into the NW), four is wood and NW is metal. Metal dominates wood, so the result is conflict in the NW.

Digest this a bit and we'll go into more detail next month.

Question of the Month: "Is Feng Shui a religion or religious practice?" from Leesa Scott. Somehow Feng Shui has been connected with Daoism, Buddhism, and other religions. The philosophy of Daoism and the science of Feng Shui developed about the same time and share common roots, but are not the same. While we're not able to exactly pinpoint Feng Shui's origins, it predates Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism by several thousand years. Two (of the many) sciences used in Feng Shui are astronomy and astrology. These were used as early as 6000 BC to determine auspicious grave and dwelling sites. Also keep in mind that there's a difference between the science of Feng Shui and cultural practices that have been handed down through time as part of tradition and  folk lore via tales. A good example of this is the use of statues and trinkets. Traditional Feng Shui only applies five elements (fire, earth, metal, water, or wood) as tools. Thank you for the question, Leesa.

Tip of the Month: On 12/7/05 we move into a seven (metal) month. In a four (wood) year, this can imply deception for relationships. Also ensure to take precautions against injury by metal. On the other hand it is a good time for travel; however, increase your success by researching a good personal energy day (see date analysis).

Testimonies, Features, and More

One of our goals in hiring you was to move back to New England. We'd been in the Midwest for 10 years with no indication this was going to happen. Our dream was realized within a month of you completing the Feng Shui walk through. My husband received a notice of transfer and we couldn't have been happier. We also accomplished the goal of obtaining an additional million dollars. You have friends and clients for life! M. M. in Massachusetts

Celebrate You: For those of you who celebrated or will celebrate birthdays or special occasions, best wishes to you! We offer gift certificates, and referrals that result in clients bringing good chi back to you (and you can choose a gift of services, products or cash)!

This Month's Feature: Want a unique t-shirt? Check out our selection! I've been looking for trigram kanji (calligraphy) shirts for years but have not been able to find any. Therefore, we created our own. These heavy-gauge, cotton shirts are individually embroidered with intent and love. Are you are a fire (Li) or other element person?  Do you want to acknowledge a boyfriend, girlfriend, or grandparent? Do you want to tell the universe you want more harmony in your life or that you support Feng Shui? These make great gifts!

Also consider an astrology report as a holiday gift. Help someone start off the New Year in an empowered way.
