* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Monthly Column: Sitting and Facing Directions A growing network is a
wonderful thing. It's an honor to be invited to someone's home. Some avoid it because they think their abode will be critiqued. However, anyone who critiques without being asked is not honoring the host.
I receive invitations to homes and offices specifically to provide an opinion. It sometimes makes me a little nervous when the home has been Feng Shui'd because I don't know what I'll find. In some cases they'll ask me
to tell them what was done wrong. I won't do this. I will tell them what to do right. You see there are several approaches to Feng Shui and people are typically drawn to what they need at the time. I usually recognize
which method was used upon entering although the ultimate goal is to "feel" not "see." Subtle nuances make the home or office peaceful are usually not apparent. Remedies should not jump out at you like obvious
distractions that don't complement the décor. If they aren't natural to the environment—they're not good Feng Shui. One common theme should be the sitting and facing orientation of the building. It
isn't. One couple spent a million dollars on their home because it was reported to be Feng Shui'd. The builder's wife read a book. Another person hosts a TV show that incorporates Feng Shui yet his home was misdiagnosed
and relationships have worsened. In both cases, the yin/yang (low energy/high energy) was not correctly determined. This explains why they aren't receiving the results they need. I'd like to get you off to a good start.

Feng Shui. Some use the front door as the main guide. Some use their intuition instead of formal education. Some take a class but have no or little field experience. The answers to the question are many.
My best advice is to do your homework. Find someone who is dedicated to this field of study, not that it's one of many things they dabble in. Also, perform a thorough interview. There are questions on my website to
guide you in this process ( What to look for in a practioner). Ask for referrals. What professional organizations are they affiliated with? After all this is done, ensure you have a connection with them. They're working with your energy,
good and bad. Do you feel you can trust them? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Tip of the Month: July Energy July 7 starts an energy pattern of three. Three represents hard wood and a strong work ethic. However, overwork can deplete you of your energy. If you work hard, play hard and ensure balance! 2005 is an
energy pattern of four and wood. Wood draws from earth so this is not particularly an auspicious month. This combination (3:4) can bring stress, instability, and relationship problems. That children are out of school,
they come to mind (see resource recommendations
for a creative idea). We'll experience a global instable situation. Be attentive to your family and don't let stress distract you.
