* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Monthly Column: Flying Star "Sevens" Within a Structure
We covered energy for 2006 in the last two issues. This issue we will take it another step. Each year Xuan Kong (flying stars) affects the potential in and around our homes and offices. Suggestions for this year's
energy were offered in my article 2006 Feng Shui. We also need to recognize the 20-year period the structure was built in (or if there was a major renovation -- one-third or more of the structure, or the roof substantially
opened or changed). We're currently in period eight (2004-2024, earth mountain); and I'd like to focus on structures built during period seven (1984-2003, soft metal) as this represents the majority of my
clients. During period seven, dwellings that were built or underwent a major renovation after 2/4/84, and sit (back of the structure) North, South, SW, or NE enjoyed a double-seven combination at the front or back of
the building. This enabled good energy, especially when a main door and/or important rooms were located within the double-seven sector. Now that we're in period eight, the double-seven configuration
takes on a negative connotation and increases the probability of theft, arguments, injury by metal, and violence for anyone sleeping or working in a double-seven sector, or in buildings where double-seven is continually
activated by a main door (or another active trigger). If you live or work in buildings with this combination, you need to block and/or drain this energy by changing the direction of the main door, or
changing the energy of the structure. However, don't assume that renovating a building so that it assimilates period eight's energy is the right thing to do. Some buildings can become worse. It all depends on the
location of key rooms (i.e., master bedroom, office, etc.), the main door, and external landform configurations. Some charts contain additional factors that may be lost (or gained) if renovated into period eight. Also,
the surrounding landforms must be reexamined and changed to enhance eight, nine, and one stars. My best advice is to consult with a flying-stars Feng Shui consultant while in the planning stages of building
or renovating. If you wait until blueprints and plans are underway, changes can be more time consuming and costly. Do it right the first time! If you are building anew, the start with the following considerations:
- the original dig date
- the time period that you're building in
- the location of good flying-star combinations (in conjunction with yin and yang room placement)
- location of each individual within the building (i.e., ensure a good sleeping direction)
- deflecting bad energy aimed at the main door or facing wall
- the surrounding landform (i.e., water and mountain stars).
This is by no means a comprehensive list. Each year there are directions to avoid for construction and renovation. In 2006, it is North, NE, NW, and SE. If this isn't feasible, begin and end renovations at
either side of the bad sector and use good energy days (see date analysis). If a
neighboring building that is undergoing a lot of construction is in one of these directions (from your building), hang a six-rod metal wind-chime or place a heavy metal object between you (such as a metal lawn chair or
wheel burrow) for protection. Ensure the sector where you place the wind-chime does not have a 2:3 combination or this may aggravate this argumentative energy.

 The largest white area (yang, pronounced yawn) is at the top symbolizing male energy, activity, heaven, summer, and the most sun.
The black area (yin) is at the bottom symbolizing female energy, regeneration, earth, winter, and least amount of light. Also, there's a speck of yin (black) energy in the white area; and a speck of yang
(white) energy in the black area. This is a true reflection that one does not exist without the other. Thanks for the question, Dan!
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Tip of the Month: On 3/6/06, we begin a four soft-wood period through April 4. A four
month in a three year (began 2/4/06) shows potential for creativity and writing so start a journal or explore your artistic side. However, this energy can imply indiscretion (affairs),
deceit, emotional turmoil, and problems for older females. Western astrology shows increased risk for air travelers. This is not a good month if your Chinese astrology is
rooster. 2006 (2/4/06 to 2/3/07) is not a good year for dragons. Good Days for March

With two eclipses and Mercury in retrograde, March doesn't offer good all-around energy days. Communication will be impacted so choose your words carefully and anticipate
delays. Air travel is a high risk. Also, ensure your data is backed up as computer problems are common with this energy. See the article 2006 Retrogrades, Eclipses and Moons.
- Mercury Retrograde - March 2 – March 24
- The best days will by 3/26, 27 & 31.
- Begin a project - 3/29 – New moon and lunar eclipse.
- Complete a project - 3/14 – Full moon and solar eclipse. Not a good time for surgery or medical procedures (due to risk of increased bleeding).
