* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Monthly Column: Gratitude Thank you for your kind expressions of sympathy. When we experience
loss, it's a reminder to stop and reflect – yin (death) and yang (life); the seasons (spring awakens, winter sleeps), and so on. Loss is part of the human state. I believe it's why we leave heaven and come to earth.
It's part of our soul's process and evolution. Here I am chatting with you about the loss of elderly family members, and our children (youth) are starting school. The cycle of life… all is as it should be.
Because of today's extended life cycle, we're supposedly the first generation to care for children as well as parents. I personally believe that's truer for the U.S. than in other countries. They honor the elderly and
often times several generations live in the same building. Anyway, a book that I found very helpful during my parents final years was How to Care for Aging Parents
by Virginia Morris. If your parents are aging, this is a great resource. Here are some suggestions on how adult children can help their parents, by David Moberg from Decision Magazine
(and I've added comments).
1. Communicate often – keep in touch by telephone, visits, cards, and letters (yes, letters – they weren't raised with today's technology so electronic cards don't cut it). Remember holidays, birthdays,
anniversaries, and thank yous. If you're of the mind set that forgetting these things is no big deal – it is a big deal. 2. Respect independence – as long as possible, your parents need to make their own
decisions about where and how to live. This was my Mother's greatest fear. 3. Support letting go – help them find constructive ways to dispose of possessions by alerting them to thrift stores or mission programs
that can benefit from their contributions. Listen to them and weep with them when they must give up their homes, their driver's license, or their leadership position. These losses are signs they are no longer in
control and it's scary for them. 4. Empathize with them – if you were in their place, how would you act and feel? 5. Encourage reminiscing – draw forth memories of the past and help them fit together
the pieces of their experience. Something I tried and am to grateful for is looking through pictures. Instead of asking where is it or who is it, ask what they were going through at that time. Learn about their
life, love, and fears! 6. Listen to them – hear the accounts of their past disappointments, accomplishments, and satisfactions, even if told repeatedly, as well as the accounts of their current worries
and fears, joys, hopes, and delights. If you think it's that broken record again, have gratitude the record can still be heard. 7. Encourage spiritual growth – help them find large-print bibles,
enriching TV and radio programs, and transportation to attend church. Encourage them to join a prayer chain or service group. The prayer chain gave Mom a purpose, and prayer heals. 8. Support usefulness
– seek their counsel, praise their hobbies, and encourage their giving service to others. 9. Stimulate their social life – encourage them to maintain old social relationships and to make new ones. "For
none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone." 10. Pray for them and with them – their physical, mental, social, and material well being is interconnected with their spiritual
health.
So, gratitude is the subject of this column and Feng Shui is the subject matter. Feng Shui is about flow, and elder care is flow out (helping them) and flow in (minimizing stress). I believe in the sun even when it
doesn't shine. I believe in love even with it isn't shown. I believe in God even though I don't see him. What's the saying? "Dance like no one is watching." Life is a dance, and God is watching. Please read the new
article about gratitude and creating positive
flow in your life and in the lives of others. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Question of the Month:
Other practitioners used my front door as their reference point for their consults. You didn't. Why? Naina It has to do with their method of practice. I am a classic (or traditional) Feng Shui practitioner
and use yin and yang. Yang, or the most active area, determines the front of a structure. Your home has streets on three sides. The most active street determines the front of the building (yang), and the most inactive
area (yin) determines the back of the structure.
When you did my home, you were more concerned about the energy from our garage entrance than the front door. This seems contrary to other practitioners. Why? Sarah
While the front door is important as one of the mouth-chi areas of your home, you seldom use it; whereas, the entrance from the garage is constantly used. This keeps the energy in that area active so if
there is good energy there—that's a good thing. When there's bad energy there—that's not good. Your husband had an injury entering the house from the garage before you implemented the needed remedy. The bad luck energy
worked against you. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Tip of the Month: Proactive Feng Shui
- On 9/8, we begin a 7 metal period through 10/7. A seven metal month, in a three wood year (began 2/4/06), in an eight earth cycle (2004 – 2023) shows potential for fights, betrayal, money loss, and robbery.
- The monthly Chinese astrology sign of Rabbit may have more challenges during the month. And remember, all of 2006 (2/4/06 to 2/3/07) is challenging for Dragons.
- Due to increased risk this month for money loss and robbery (robbery can be literal or metaphorical such as being robbed of opportunities or identity), consider checking your credit report. You can do this once
a year for free with the main three credit-reporting agencies via this link
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp.
An unknown person in Europe was using my credit card to purchase sporting and travel
merchandise. Due to proactive Feng Shui measures, Chinese astrology predictions, and diligence checking my credit report (and having a banking and risk-management background), I anticipated something and was
prepared. The experience was an inconvenience more than a horror story – the likes we hear about where it takes years to recover from identity theft. After a few phone calls, it was handled.
Want to reduce your risk? Call us at 1-866-689-6891 to find out how you can be more proactive! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Good Energy Days for September
Read more here
- New moon & Solar eclipse – 9/22 – a new moon is generally good to start new projects. However, when combined with an eclipse it may flag feelings of loss and separation
- Full Moon & Lunar eclipse – 9/7 – a full moon is generally good to wrap up a project. Also, bulbs planted during a full moon produce better results! But, surgery or medical procedures have a risk
of increased bleeding.
- Poorest energy days – eclipses can sometimes signal a stressful time, mainly due to the shift in circumstances that may occur. Try to avoid making important decisions during an eclipse as the energy around you
will tend to be unsettled and changeable. It's wise to wait at least a week for things to settle after an eclipse before making any important or final decisions. So, poor periods are 9/7 -14 and 9/22 – 29
with the lowest points being 9/10 & 14.

serve you or others. Who you will be in the next five years depends on three things: the books you read; the people you meet; and the choices you make. Choose today to live a transformed life! ~~ Author unknown

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Testimonies, Good News, Quotes and more "My husband was very skeptical about having our house and business Feng Shui'd. But he
was willing to give it a shot as he saw how important it was to me. We are a family of six and my husband and I own our own business that was only a few years old. Things were tight financially, personally, as well as
professionally. We lived in a small house and with six of us this only added to our stress. With everything we had going on; my husband thought I completely lost it when I wanted to fit this expense into our budget.
Well that was then, this is now. Since having our home and business done, we have noticed such a difference--it is like night and day! We were in a long mild winter and were finding it difficult to get much work.
Everyone in our industry was hurting for work and most of the contractors were bidding work at or below cost just to get some cash flow. This made the competition fierce. We implemented some changes immediately in our
bidding process incorporating good energy numbers just like Diana suggested. We also put abundance ribbons
in every checkbook, and in every "Quote" and "Jobs in Progress" file drawer. Immediately after the changes we made, we started getting work - a lot of work - profitable work. The only thing that was different in our lives was the changes we implemented based on Diana's suggestions. Our competition was still struggling. That was over 6 months ago and we are still flowing with new work. We hired another field guy, are looking to hire one more, and hire a salesman. We added another truck to our fleet and are going strong.
That was just some of what happened professionally. At home my husband and I had been sleeping apart for about eight months because he had started snoring very loud and I wouldn't get any sleep if I was
with him. We are a young couple and you could only imagine what that was doing to our intimacy. We had tried everything, we got a fan to try and drown out the noise, my husband would only sleep on his side, we went to
the Dr. and he even went to a Sleep Clinic. Nothing worked. We were very frustrated. Diana came to our house and in our bedroom she saw that we had a dresser with a big mirror on it facing our bed. She suggested we
remove the mirror or at least cover it up to see if we noticed any difference. We both thought, yeah right, but we were willing to try anything. The next morning we both awoke surprised and shocked. I had slept through
the night not being constantly awakened by his snoring and my husband slept through the night not being constantly awakened by my kicking him because he was snoring. I don't know if he has stopped snoring or if I am
just sleeping so sound now that I don't hear it. I don't care! All I know is that my husband and I have been able to sleep in the same room again every night since without any issue. We implemented
everything Diana told us, and it was very easy to do with very little expense. We are now financially stable, and our business and home life are easier and less stressful. We are working less but yielding far better
results. Since we are no longer killing ourselves to just make ends meet and to find the time to try and get everything done, we are able to actually enjoy life and our kids. We just bought a new house. It is big enough
for all of us and has a great yard for the kids to play. None of this would have been possible 8 months ago. There is nothing else that we can attribute the changes and successes to but Feng Shui. The changes were
immediate and obvious. My husband is a huge believer now and tells everyone about it. We are truly grateful."
